This is my first time posting. I just found a large set of prints that my father, Aron, took in and around Toronto in the early 1970's. Mostly CN but some CP as well. The image quality is not the best but there are some great old photos here and if the group likes them I will keep scanning them and posting. This is one of many from Spadina roundhouse where I remember going as a small kid and being somewhat terrified of all the big loud locomotives. There was a stairway right off the Spadina Rd. bridge and you could just walk right down to the roundhouse. Those were the days!

  4. Absolutely keep on scanning, Dave; under the heading of “Geezer Pleasers”. :o )

  5. Please keep posting. We need more photos from this time period. What’s surprising with this photo is that there is only one cab unit to be seen.

  6. Thanks for the comments folks! I’ll fire up the scanner and get a bunch more of these done.

  7. Fabulous photos. Bringing back great memories of my days at CN in the 70′s.

  8. Great photo!! Yes, those were the days! Photo date is probably 1968, as the second tower of the Toronto Dominion Centre (shown in photo as under construction) was completed in 1969.

  9. Keep scanning, these are great to see. Thanks for posting. Before I joined CP in 1973, I worked in Toronto for CN for a short time, including around Spadina shop. I wish I had taken photos while I was there.
