The scene at Clinton after Goderich-Exeter Railway (GEXR) train 581 set-off GP9 4001 before continuing their trek from Goderich to Stratford on the Goderich Subdivision. In the near future, the unit will be used to service the railway's Exeter Spur, which at the time served customers between Clinton and Centralia.

  1. Didn’t realize they had a dedicated unit like that for the Exeter. Very neat. Any shots of it working that line?

  2. Nice. I’ve got to comment that looks like the furniture place is for sale. Central Ontario seemed to have furniture places all over. And they are all gone……..

  3. Thanks for the comments Jamie and Arnold.

Arnold- I honestly didn’t notice the for sales in the windows, but I believe that you are correct. I wonder what it became.

Jamie- Unfortunately, I didn’t get any photos of it working the Exeter Spur. If I remember correctly it was ordered for a different day, possibly even on that weekend as I took the photo on a Friday afternoon.

  4. Like most things quaint the furniture place came down, around 2010 respectively.

This looks like classic RA era of GEXR, the Railink paint on grassy track in a small town. Nice.

  5. Thanks for the information on the furniture place and comment Jacob.
