On a frigid December evening, CN L581 rests in Brantford Yard as CN 434 completes their work. The power for 581 on this day was CN 5273, GMTX 2277, CN 9416. In the last week we have had the CN 9416 depart due to a stuck horn and the CN 2304 was added today to lead the train Eastbound. This just proves that in our hobby you have to take the opportunity to photograph something when it presents itself.

  1. 2304 will lead Westbound won’t it!? Must have been another rough day in the classroom.

  2. It’ll lead down to Garnet and 2277 will lead back up. They wyed 2277 in Caledonia today. So the 5273 is now sandwiched.

  3. Interesting. I’d like the get a shot of 2277 leading. Not sure how / when but thanks for the intel!

  4. Nice night scene there Joseph. The frozen blades of grass really highlight the shot. Tired of ice storms yet? I’m sure that one won’t be the last!

  5. Beautiful shot on a not so pleasant evening!

  6. 9416 had horn issues when it was assigned to the Guleph Sub during the fall as well. Very nice night photo Joe!

  7. Was the horn stuck on? Or did it not work?

  8. The horn was stuck on… much to the delight of the residents of Paris.

  9. Why was one of the classification lights on?

  10. For whatever reason it was lighting up very dimly. The long exposure makes it look very much on when it really wasn’t.
