Caption: I noted with great interest Jason Noe's offering to RP (image #42139)of the VIA-Amtrak "Slumbercoach" service.
On the same day, I shot this at Niagara Falls, about to arrive at the station, running eastward. AMTK's "Niagara Rainbow" overnighter arrived in Toronto (from NYC) 1020 on Saturday morning and departed 1745 Sunday afternoon for NYC. VIA operated the train in Ontario, and VIA #95, on the same schedule led to Toronto and returned with the train (as shown) Sunday late to be out on Monday morning as train #90. This view is of AMTK 265 leading the consist to Niagara Falls (shot from Victoria Av overpass) where the VIA 6402 and coaches will be left at the station.
This shot compliments Jason's; we now see the same train from both ends. :o) The service began the week prior, also with VIA 6402 and AMTK 265. Poorly patronized. Lasted about 15 months.

That’s pretty awesome Arnold! Nice location where you shot it from in Niagara as well. Now I can confirm what the VIA unit was on the other end that day too. I didn’t have it written in my notes.
Yeah, and I did not have the Amtrak number !!!! Now I can confirm this is exactly the same power (and train?) that ran the first week of this experiment beginning the July 17th. I understand it was to be an LRC power unit, but never did see one. Only F40s.
Amazing how much track was here..
