Here it is 50 years after the fact and I finally discover that my trip down into Trail to catch the Trainmasters I thought were there, had actually left town. No wonder I could not locate one. Without the connections back then that we have today, I could only assume they were either at Nelson, which they weren’t; then they must be at Trail. No luck. Anyway, to go with Dan’s most interesting posting I thought it might be appropriate to post an overview of the Cominco Smelter. Great photos inspire others to upload more great photos! That place looks like a giant maze to navigate and hunt out anything inside.

Thanks, MrDan: You can see by the operation that some little guy like me would get tossed out in a hurry.:o) I wanted to post this image because it shows viewers just what kind of an operation this Cominco Smelter was. Back then, I had no idea. But should have. The thought of what I might find there overwhelmed the thought that I might not even get close.
