After dropping rail outside of Kinnear Yard, the CP CWR train climbs up the Niagara escarpment on the Hamilton Sub, past Dewitt Rd enroute to Smithville where they will spend the night, with plans to work the Ham Sub the next day and return to the Galt Sub by night fall. However since taking this photograph, this CWR train has tied up in Smithville multiple times over the last week and a half...as work took longer than originally anticipated. Obviously. For those who are in search of this train, by the time this gets approved, it should be tied down either in Galt or on the Waterloo spur somewhere (with two Geeps, no SD40's). *Here* is a shot from Reg Button of CP RS18 8733 and four other units featuring three TH&B units trudging uphill with a rock train at the same spot, fourty one years ago next month.

  1. Interesting spot, and I like the wide angle view. I thought of shooting here before but wasn’t sure of the lighting when sunny. Probably more forgiving under cloudy conditions.

  2. UPDATE MARCH 24TH: It’s down in Windsor at the moment.

  3. Nice angle!
