Orange daylilies match the G&W livery as GEXR 582 heads for home crossing the Speed River at Hespeler on a warm, humid summer day. The mother/slug set was assigned to the train for a while during this time period. Really enjoyed the flared radiators of the 3806.

  3. Stunning !!! I thought initially…flowers? Oh yeah, and then I checked the date…. :o )
This sure is quite the shot. Love it.

  4. I must say, this is a wonderful image. I’m surprised you wrote so little about this one!!!

  5. Glad you guys like it. Thanks eh.

  6. Very nice image Steve.

  7. Nice work as always, love that bridge!

  8. Thank you – it’s too bad there’s a railing on this side now.

  9. Stephen, an absolutely gorgeous picture !l The clouds, trees, orange lillies, the reflection of the “pumpkin orange” diesels on the water surface, and even the black vs. white tank cars – Wow !! Who says railway photography is not what it used to be. Question, are these the same units on the Guelph Jct Railway today ?
Thanks so much for posting, John

  10. Sir: No they are not the same units.

Glad you like it, I had plans to do a photo from this side from some time and .. it just came together. I didn’t know the lilies would be out.. and a reflection is always a roll of the dice with the wind speed..

The real enemy was clouds.. the sun was going in and out as I waited for the train to come.. a familiar issue for most of us, and it worked out in the end.
