Here is an image of one of the MLW M-636 locomotives that was acquired new by the Cartier Railway in the early 1970s. An odd duck in the fact it is still wearing its' original green with yellow paint scheme. It did manage to hang on long enough to be painted to the standard black and orange of the day though. This unit was sold off to Marine Diesel Engines Ltd in 2002, as the company dispensed with all its old MLW/ALCO products and went to EMD/GE. The mining company now calls itself Arcelor Mittal Mines.

  3. Wow! It’s unreal what you have captured over the years Arnold! – Ken
